Are you a detail-oriented engineer who thrives on seeing ideas through to production? Do you have a broad interest and enjoy gathering improvement options for Rocsys from various sources? If you love taking ownership of challenges while collaborating with peers for effective solutions, we want to hear from you.
You make the difference
You are that detail-oriented engineer that likes to focus on finishing your ideas and bringing them towards series production. You have a broad interest and collect improvement options from internal and external sources to Rocsys. You love to take ownership of a challenge but are also comfortable collaborating with peers to find the most effective and efficient solution.
Your contribution
As a mechanical engineer at Rocsys, you will design and improve the mechanical features of the robot. This includes mechatronics components as actuators and sensors. Assignments range from developing new features to reliability, cost or production-related improvements.
In this job, you:
Are responsible for maintaining our robotic system to be readily producible:
- recognize and formulate essential mechanical design improvements.
- create updates to our robot based on insights from durability testing data, field and supply chain feedback.
- develop your concepts in a structured and well-documented way, by defining, detailing, testing, and evaluating your solution.
- support design transfer activities from the development team to series production, incorporating design for manufacturing in your 2D production drawings.
Are responsible for engineering new mechanical features and add-ons:
- work together with product managers in accurately defining the requirements for new features.
- work together with colleagues to define concepts and develop them through all steps towards production.
- test your new development in our in-house workshop and document your design decisions and results.
- work together with suppliers to incorporate design for manufacturing details.
- Design, develop and optimise advanced hardware systems for Rocsys’ next-generation product;
- Work closely with fellow mechanical engineers to conceptualize, design, and detail various subsystems, ensuring robust and groundbreaking mechanical designs;
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including electronics and software engineers to ensure smooth integration and functionality alignment across different components;
- Oversee the construction and testing of prototypes, conducting thorough evaluations and refining designs based on test results;
- Implement Design for Assembly (DFA) and Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles to enhance manufacturability and efficiency in production processes;
- Plan, estimate and manage work packages, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to project milestones;
- Actively contribute to the development and optimization of streamlined processes within the engineering team, fostering a culture of innovation and efficiency.
- Share your expertise and knowledge with other colleagues to further professionalize Rocsys.
